Here’s How You Can Get the Redmi 5A For Rs. 3999

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi unveiled a budget-level smartphone for the Indian masses called the Redmi 5A yesterday. The first 5 million units can be purchased for an introductory price starting at Rs. 4,999 for the 2GB / 16GB variant and Rs. 5,999 for the 3GB / 32GB variant. The price will be increased by Rs. 1000 apiece later on. Well, if you’re still not pleased with the introductory price tag, there’s a way to get your hands on the new Redmi 5A for just Rs. 3,999. Yes, you read that right. For the price of a video game, you could literally purchase the new Redmi 5A, but there’s a catch here, as you probably expected. You should be willing to avail Jio’s 4G tariff plan, and it’s not an instant cashback offer.
Reliance Jio has introduced a new “better together” tariff plan to go along with the new Redmi 5A. Under the new offer, Redmi 5A owners will have to recharge their accounts with the Rs. 199 pack on a monthly basis for a duration of 12 months. The pack provides 28 GB of 4G data with a daily limit of 1 GB, along with unlimited local and STD calls and unlimited SMS with a validity of 28 days.
However, the first recharge should be made between December 5, 2017 and November 30, 2018 to get the Rs. 1,000 cashback. At the end of the 12 months period, the cashback will be credited to the subscriber’s account in the form of 10 vouchers with a denomination of Rs. 100. Only one cashback voucher can be redeemed at a particular time and can be availed only against the recharge of Rs. 309 or above packs or Rs. 201 or above data add-ons via MyJio app before November 30, 2019.
Basically, this benefit requires you to stick to the Reliance Jio network for a duration of 2 years, and the fact that it’s not an instant cashback offer might be a major dealbreaker to some. Regardless, if you’re already a Reliance Jio subscriber, the cashback of Rs. 1000 make a difference in the long run. So, if you were planning on purchasing the Redmi 5A, will you utilize Reliance Jio’s network to save yourself a thousand more bucks? Do let us know, in the comments section down below.
